Estate planning marketing: local SEO, seminars and plain-language ads
SEO and ads for estate-planning firms, built for older clients and adult children, seminars and local search, judged on signed plans from your own records.
- Flat, published fees; you pay the ad platforms directly.
- Every account in your name; leave any month after 90 days.
- Your attorney approves every ad, and we check your state’s rules during setup.
Estate planning is a considered purchase. People put it off, compare carefully, and often look close to home, sometimes with an adult child doing the searching. We run local SEO, plain-language pages, seminars and search ads for estate-planning firms, and judge them on signed plans from your own records.
The estate-planning market, in four facts
- The audience is growing. The US population aged 65 and older reached 64.6 million in July 2025, up 16.2% since 2020 (Census Bureau).
- Most adults have no will. In a 2025 survey of more than 2,500 adults, only 24% had one, and 43% of those without a will said they just hadn’t gotten around to it (Caring.com).
- Older clients are online. 89% of adults 65 and older use the internet (Pew Research Center), and Facebook and YouTube are used by a majority of every age group (Pew Research Center).
- Local signals carry weight. Google ranks local results on relevance, distance and prominence, including reviews (Google), and estate clients rarely drive far for a lawyer.
The marketing problem is less “find the client” than “help them stop putting it off,” and that’s a job for clear pages, a trusted local presence and an easy first step.
Who you’re really marketing to
- The planner, often 55 or older, deciding what happens to their home, savings and care.
- The adult child, who finds the firm and makes the first call, especially when a parent’s health changes.
- The family after a death, facing probate or a trust administration and wanting someone to explain it.
Intake respects who the client is. When an adult child calls, intake notes it, and your lawyers meet the person whose plan it is.
Seminars, measured as stages
Seminars are a long-standing estate-planning channel. We treat each one as a small funnel with its own stages in the Monday report: sign-up, attendance, consultation booked, plan signed. Promotion runs to people near the venue on Meta, YouTube and search, and seminar invitations are lawyer advertising under your state’s rules (ABA Model Rule 7.2), approved by your attorney and filed where your state requires. Follow-up goes only to people who asked for it.
Built for older readers
- Larger type, strong contrast and plain words. We build to WCAG 2.2 AA (W3C), which helps every reader and especially older ones.
- Packages and fees explained. Flat-fee plans, what each includes and what happens after signing.
- A phone number that reaches a person, because many older clients prefer to call.
Signed plans and values
A signed case is a signed engagement for a plan, a probate or a trust administration. One agreement counts once, even when a couple signs it together. Values come from your fee history by package, such as will-based or trust-based plans, and by probate matter, in a few bands. Estate clients can take weeks to sign, so qualified leads carry a share of their band’s value while the cohorts mature.
Our two pillars for estate-planning firms
| Pillar | What we do | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| SEO and AI search | Plain-language pages by document and by county probate process, a strong Business Profile, and the long, careful questions AI answers field | Estate planning SEO and AI search |

What we never do for estate-planning firms
- Build audiences from client lists, remarket where a platform’s policy doesn’t allow it, or target by health or finances.
- Use fear about death, illness or family conflict to sell a plan.
- Call seminar attendees who didn’t ask to be called.
- Promise savings, tax results or outcomes.

Questions firms ask
- Do estate-planning seminars still work?
- For some firms, yes, and the way to know is to measure them as stages: sign-up, attendance, consultation, signed plan. We promote seminars to people near your office and report each step, so a seminar is judged by the plans it signs, not the chairs it fills.
- Who should our marketing speak to: the parent or the adult child?
- Both. Adult children often find the firm; the parent is the client and makes the decisions. Pages and intake speak to both, and your lawyers meet the client directly.
- Should we target ads by age?
- Meta and Google let advertisers choose broad age ranges, and for seminars that can make sense. We never build audiences from lists of people or target by health or finances, and we remarket only where the platform's policy allows it.
- Is local SEO more important than ads for estate planning?
- Often, yes. Estate clients look close to home and compare carefully, so the map results, reviews and plain-language pages do much of the work. Search ads then fill in where organic results are thin.
