Scorpion is a legal marketing company that builds websites and runs SEO, ads and intake tools for law firms. Probative runs SEO, AI search and ads for law firms, month to month, at published prices. This page sets out what each company says in public, so you can judge the fit yourself.
Key facts
- Scorpion does not publish prices on the pages we checked; its FAQ says the cost depends on your goals.
- Scorpion’s FAQ says it “typically requires a 12-month contract for our marketing technology” and certain services such as SEO, while ads are usually month to month.
- Scorpion says you own your website, domains, content and imagery once the contract term is complete.
- Scorpion says its reporting tracks spend and signed cases.
How does Scorpion compare with Probative?
The two differ most on price, term and when ownership passes to you. Both say they report on signed cases.
| Criterion | Scorpion (its own words, summarized) | Probative |
|---|---|---|
| What you buy | Websites, SEO, AI search, ads, Local Services Ads and intake tools, as a tailored plan | SEO, AI search and ads on Google, Microsoft, Local Services Ads, Meta and YouTube. We sell no leads or cases |
| Published prices | Not published. The FAQ says the investment depends on your business goals | Every fee is on our pricing page: a flat monthly fee, never a percentage of ad spend, never per lead or per case |
| Contract | A longer term for its technology and SEO; ads such as Google Ads and Meta usually month to month | Month to month, with no minimum term, for every service |
| Who owns the site, content and accounts | You own the website after the contract term; domains, content and imagery are yours; after the term, key accounts such as analytics are transferred | Your firm owns every account from day one, in its own name, and the content we make once you pay for it |
| Reporting | Real-time reporting that tracks spend and signed cases | Signed cases counted from your own records, in every package |
| Practice areas and firm sizes | Says it has helped firms across every practice area; names injury, criminal defense, family, immigration and estate. Firm sizes not stated | Every practice area (how many are included depends on the package) and any firm size, nationwide |
| Spanish | Bilingual SEO and Spanish pay-per-click campaigns, described in an article on its immigration marketing | Spanish ads, pages and intake checks, written and checked by native writers |

In more detail, from Scorpion’s FAQ: digital advertising such as Google Ads, Local Services Ads and Meta is “typically month-to-month,” and its ownership answer says it transfers “key accounts such as Google Analytics/GA4” back when you leave at the end of the contract. On our side, either side can end a plan any month with 30 days’ written notice.
Who may Scorpion be a better fit for?
Scorpion may suit your firm better if any of these is true:
- You want one vendor for the website, SEO, ads, reviews, video and AI intake tools, under one contract.
- Your firm runs on Clio. Scorpion’s partnership page says it is Clio’s sole preferred marketing services partner, and that its leads flow straight into Clio Grow.
- You value a long track record. Scorpion says it has spent more than 25 years building its systems and technology for this work.
- You are comfortable with a longer term for the website and SEO in exchange for a built, hosted system.
Who may Probative be a better fit for?
- You want to see the price before the first call, and to cancel any month.
- You want every account in your firm’s name from the start, not handed over at the end.
- You want SEO and ads to carry equal weight, with your cost per signed case counted from your own records.
- You want to show up in AI answers from ChatGPT and others, measured in English and Spanish.
What do public reviews show?
On Clutch, Scorpion’s profile shows 3.5 out of 5 from 12 reviews, across legal and other industries. Read the reviews yourself, and ask any agency, us included, for two current law-firm references in your practice area.
What else could you choose instead of Scorpion?
The right alternative depends on what you want to replace. Another full-service agency, such as Rankings.io or Juris Digital, is the like-for-like swap. A directory or lead program, such as FindLaw or Martindale-Avvo, buys exposure rather than marketing you own. An in-house team gives you full control at a higher fixed cost. Our guide to lead vendors, agencies and in-house teams compares the three models.
What should you ask Scorpion, or any agency, before you sign?
- Which services fall under the longer term, and what does leaving early cost?
- Which accounts are in our firm’s name today, and which only at the end of the term?
- Does the website leave with its design and content, or as static files?
- How do you count a signed case, and can we check it against our own case system?
Our agency contract checklist turns these into a one-page sheet.
How we compared
We read only public sources: Scorpion’s own website and FAQ, and its headline rating on Clutch. We quote its words where they matter and summarize the rest. We did not contact Scorpion, ask for a quote or use reviews from former clients or staff. Probative’s side comes from our pricing page and terms in plain English. Where something is not published, we say so. We check these facts again each quarter.
Probative Growth is not affiliated with Scorpion. Scorpion is a trademark of its owner, used here only to identify the company. If anything here is out of date, email hello@probativegrowth.com and we will correct it and log the change on our corrections page.
What this means for your firm
- Ask for the term in writing for each service, and plan any move around it.
- Ask who owns each account today, not only when the contract ends.
- Judge every option on cost per signed case from your own records.
