Workers search the night after a hurt on the job, usually on a phone, and they want to know what happens next. Our SEO and AI search work answers that in their state’s terms, in English and Spanish. We judge it by signed clients, counted in your own records.

Key facts

  • Comp is run state by state, so pages are written for one state at a time.
  • 28 jurisdictions set a percent cap on a workers’ comp lawyer’s fee, by our count in the fee-cap study.
  • The same question gets asked in Spanish, so Spanish pages are part of the plan from the start.

Why must workers’ comp pages be state-specific?

Workers’ compensation is a state system, and it works without a jury trial. The agency, the forms, the benefit types and who approves your fee all change at the state line. A page that mixes states confuses the reader and the search engine. So we build each page set for one state, and name the agency and the next step there.

  • One state, one page set. A firm in two states gets two sets, not one blended set.
  • Official links. Each page points to the state agency’s own forms and phone line.
  • No dollar promises. Pages explain benefits by type and never name an amount.

What do injured workers search for?

They search by step, not by legal term. The table shows the groups we plan pages around.

Moment What people type What the page must do
Just hurt what to do after a hurt at work; do I tell my boss Explain reporting in that state, and link to the agency
Claim denied comp claim denied what now; insurance doctor says not work related Explain appeal steps in plain words and invite a call
Medical care can I pick my own doctor; who pays my bills Describe how your state handles doctor choice, with the agency link
Weighing a lawyer workers comp lawyer cost; do I need a lawyer Explain that the state sets or approves the fee, and how to start
Spanish me lastimé en el trabajo; abogado de compensación The same steps, written natively in Spanish

Workers search by the step they are on, so each step gets its own page in each state.

How do fee rules show up on the page?

Plainly. Workers ask what a lawyer costs, and the honest answer comes from the state. 28 jurisdictions set a percent cap on a workers’ comp lawyer’s fee. In California, the workers’ compensation judge sets a reasonable attorney’s fee. A fee page that says this, with your state’s rule linked, answers the question before the call. Your attorney approves the wording. See attorney fee caps by state.

How important is Spanish for comp?

Very. Hispanic workers suffered 1,229 of the 5,070 US workplace deaths in 2024 (BLS). Many of those workers search in Spanish, and so do their families. We write Spanish pages natively, link each to its English twin, and add the Spanish description to your profile. More on Spanish legal marketing and the Spanish program.

Which searches show that someone is ready to hire a workers’ comp lawyer?

A worker who types a state, a city or a cost question is closer to calling than one who types a definition. Guides that explain a term mostly earn links and citations. Decision pages earn calls. For a comp firm, build the state fee page and the denied-claim page first.

Search kind The page or profile that answers it What a visitor needs to see before calling
Near me or in a city: workers comp lawyer near me; workers comp attorney in [city] A page for that city and your Business Profile The state named, the office address, hours, languages and a call button
Cost or fees: how much does a workers comp lawyer cost The state fee page Who sets or approves the fee in that state, in plain words
Do I need a lawyer: do I need a lawyer for workers comp A do-I-need page The signs a claim is getting harder, with no promise
Free consultation: free consultation workers comp lawyer A consultation page What the first call covers and how to start
What to bring or what happens next: what to bring to a workers comp lawyer; what happens after I file A next-steps page A short checklist: the injury report, doctor notes and any denial letter
A scenario: insurance doctor says not work related A scenario page for that situation The state’s next step and a way to call the same day

Decision pages answer the question a worker asks just before calling, so they are built before general guides.

Which scenario searches can a firm win against the directories?

Directories and aggregators own the broadest searches, such as “lawyer near me”. A firm can win narrower ones where today’s page is thin or old. Also keep your directory and Business Profile listings complete and consistent, so workers who start in a directory still find you.

  • Hurt at work, and the employer did not report the injury
  • Claim denied because the insurer says the injury is not work related
  • Hurt while working through a staffing agency
  • The insurance doctor sent me back to work too soon
  • A work injury in a named county, and which hearing office handles it
  • The form the insurer mailed after the first report

What should a Spanish comp page and profile include?

Write the Spanish page natively and add a Spanish description to your Business Profile. Many Spanish speakers have limited English, and few lawyers serve them in Spanish, so a clear page stands out. Show every required statement in the language of the page or ad: Florida and Nevada require required statements in each language of the ad. See the Spanish program.

What about your Google profile and AI answers?

Your Business Profile is often the first thing a worker sees. We keep the hours, languages, categories and call button right, and we answer every review in plain, safe words. For AI assistants, we write short, sourced answers on each step and check what the tools say about your firm by name. See local SEO and AI search.

What we do not do

  • We do not post a claim-value calculator or a benefit amount.
  • We do not write pages that guess at a worker’s medical condition.
  • We do not copy another firm’s pages, and we do not bulk-publish text no lawyer has read.
  • We do not promise rankings or AI mentions.

How we measure it

The monthly report shows organic calls, forms and profile calls by state and language, then signed clients from those first contacts. Pages indexed and calls are early signals only. The paid side is on workers’ comp ads, the overview is on workers’ compensation, and the first-call process is in the workers’ comp intake guide. The method is on our standard page. Related: law firm SEO, state advertising rules. This is not legal advice.

What this means for your firm

  • Each state you serve gets its own page set, in English and Spanish.
  • Fee pages answer the cost question from the state’s own rule.
  • Results are counted as signed clients in your own records.

Questions firms ask

Why can't one national page cover workers' comp?

Each state runs its own comp system, so a page that is right in one state can mislead a worker in the next. We build a page set for each state you serve, and each page names the state agency and the steps in that state. A page that stays general tends to rank for nothing.

Should the pages say how much a claim is worth?

No. A worker reading a dollar figure may take it as a promise, and it differs by state and by injury. Pages explain the steps, the benefit types and who decides, then invite a call. Your attorney reviews every page, and nothing on it should read as an outcome.

Do Spanish pages need their own work?

Yes. Workers search in Spanish for the same steps, with different words. We write Spanish pages natively, reviewed by a person, link them to the English pages, and give your profile a Spanish description. We never publish machine translation.

How soon do comp pages bring signed clients?

Search is slow to build, and we do not promise a date. Early signals are pages indexed, calls from organic search and your profile's call actions. The final count is signed clients in your own records, reported by state and language.

Step 2 of 2. Where should we send the video for your site?

We use this to send your video and to reply to you.

We use what you send to reply and to send a few short follow-up emails (unsubscribe any time). To learn which of our ads work, we tell Google, Microsoft and Meta that a request came in, with the ad you clicked (if any) and a hashed copy of your email and phone (a code the platforms can still match to you), never your message. Never sold, never added to lists. Global Privacy Control or an email to us turns this off. By sending this form you agree to our privacy policy.
