Business and commercial law marketing: the full picture
How we help business and commercial law firms get chosen in search and AI answers and run ads that bring signed clients.
Business and commercial law · North Carolina
Owners and executives search by the problem: a contract dispute, a partner leaving, a deal, a lease or a lawsuit. North Carolina has fewer law offices per resident than the national rate. Below: North Carolina’s ad rules for a business and commercial law firm and the local figures behind them.
We would start with Google + SEO, because owners compare firms on expertise, so matter-type pages and the Google profile carry the search ads: $8,750 a month with managed ad spend up to $15k (every price). The SEO part is priced by market size, and North Carolina’s largest metro areas by the Census count of residents aged 5 and over are Charlotte-Concord-Gastonia, NC-SC (about 2,604,650), Virginia Beach-Chesapeake-Norfolk, VA-NC (about 1,681,311) and Raleigh-Cary, NC (about 1,401,184).
We would point the first pages, map listings and ad locations at the Western District of North Carolina, which takes the most federal contract and intellectual property suits in the state.
The closest case study: A legal-services launch cuts what each new client costs in half.
Business clients compare firms on expertise, so “specialist” and “expert” wording and results claims draw the closest reading.
North Carolina adds its own layer to the Google, Local Services and Meta business and commercial law rules: ad filing is listed as no filing, and what every ad must show is listed as name plus contact details. The platform rules themselves are on the ads page and the policy tracker.
Start with the metro pages: Charlotte law firm SEO, AI search and Google Ads, Raleigh law firm SEO, AI search and Google Ads. Spanish-speaking demand and the full North Carolina rules are on the North Carolina rules page.

What these figures leave out: federal courts only; state court cases are not counted; admissions, not lawyers who practice in the state; counts offices, not lawyers; BLS withholds some county figures; counts offices, not lawyers or legal aid. Corrections log.
Business owners look for a lawyer before a deal or after a fight, so the first month needs two paths. Your script should ask whether the call is about forming a company, a contract, or a dispute, and how much money is at stake. Build pages for starting a company, contracts, and partner disputes, with city pages for Charlotte, Raleigh, Durham, and Wilmington. Add one page about the state's Business Court, noting that a contract dispute between companies of at least one million dollars can be designated a complex business case when every party agrees. Add another on the corporate annual report, due by the fifteenth day of the fourth month after the fiscal year ends. Publish Spanish pages too. Put your name and contact details on every ad.
In months two and three, count signed clients once per matter from your own records, and separate one-time projects from ongoing monthly clients so you do not mix them. Track which page, phone call, or referral brought each owner. Cut pages that draw students and job seekers, and cut broad ads for deal types you do not handle. Keep the annual report page if it leads to signed work, such as a reminder service. Recording follows one-party consent, but tell callers. Texting falls under federal law only, so ask before sending a text. With no comprehensive privacy law, write your own clear line about how you keep client business records, and post it.
