Every public number for marketing a law firm, state by state
Pick a state and see, on one card: how many law offices compete there, how many counties are short of them, how many Spanish speakers with limited English there are for each Spanish-speaking lawyer, whether the bar wants your ads filed, how fee splits with a referring lawyer work, how long an injured person has to sue, and how many new lawyers were admitted last year. Every figure links to its source.

How to read a card
- Law offices are private establishments with employees, from the Labor Department’s quarterly census. Many solo lawyers with no staff are not in that count.
- The Spanish figures are Census survey estimates with their margin of error. Where the sample is too small we show no number.
- Rules and statutes were read in the official text. A “not verified” cell has not been confirmed in that text yet.
- A card describes a market; it does not recommend a state or predict how many clients will come.
