Data · Official practice statistics
Official practice statistics by state
The public figures our bankruptcy, employment-law, immigration and personal-injury pages quote for each state, gathered in one place with the federal table each comes from. The wording matches the page exactly.
What is in this dataset?
Every official figure quoted on our bankruptcy, employment-law, immigration and personal-injury pages for ten states, one sentence per record, with the federal source it comes from (U.S. Courts, EEOC, the immigration courts and NHTSA's fatal-crash file) and the page it appears on.
Use it to cite a practice page's numbers with their source, or to pull the same figures into your own work. Each sentence is the exact wording on the page; the source line names the table and period.

Where does the data come from?
Each sentence is computed once from the federal source table, registered as a claim with its source, and copied here unchanged, keyed by state and practice, so the dataset always matches the pages.

What are the limits?
- The sentences cover the practice and state pages that quote official figures, ten states for each of four practices.
- Each figure belongs to the period its sentence names; a newer table replaces it at the next refresh, and the change log records it.
- Filing and charge counts measure what reached a court or agency, not every legal problem in a state.
- Records older than 130 days since their last check are marked
